About Wellesley
Wellesley is made up of several small villages, including Wellesley, St. Clements, Linwood, Hawkesville, Heidelberg, Paradise Lake and Wallenstein. Its picturesque countryside and small-town charm have made it one of the fastest-growing areas in Waterloo Region.
Its history is closely tied to Mennonite settlers, with some villages dating back to the mid-19th century. This rich cultural and historical heritage continues to shape the township. Today, the township is home to a thriving local Mennonite community and more than 300 family-owned on-farm businesses that feed the local population and economy.
Most of its 11,500 residents reside in newer suburban developments, with many commuting to Kitchener and Waterloo for work or post-secondary school.
Big Brands and Hometown Successes
Wellesley’s vibrant business community, characterized by a mix of cutting-edge innovation and traditional craftsmanship, showcases the township’s ability to attract a wide range of businesses.
For 150 years, RTS Companies has been a world leader in the design and manufacturing of rotomolded products. Based in St. Clements, the company manufactures everything from child-friendly shopping carts to playgrounds to rain barrels and raised gardens.
Artco International is a manufacturer of case goods, upholstered furniture and millwork for the hospitality industry. The company, also headquartered in St. Clements, has two large manufacturing facilities to deliver for its customers in North America and across the world.
No one likes when the power goes out, but when it does, businesses trust generator products from Wellesley-based T&T Power. The company has over 40 years of experience providing generators and other electrical backup equipment.
AMI Attachments is an industry-leading manufacturer of quality, reliable attachments for excavators, backhoes, wheel loaders and other heavy construction equipment. With its head office located in Hawkesville, the company is strategically located to serve the heavy equipment attachment market across Canada and the United States.
We couldn’t leave out the township’s namesake business, Wellesley Brand Apple Products. The 100-year-old company produces apple cider, butter and syrup for fans across Ontario.
