Last week, the Waterloo-based Accelerator Centre (AC) announced that they have joined forces with Amazon’s Alexa Fund to launch an all-new accelerator program tailored to support entrepreneurs who are advancing voice-powered technologies.
The first of its kind in Canada, the Amazon Alexa Voice Tech Accelerator is built on the Accelerator Centre’s distinguished curriculum-based programming.
“Last year, the Accelerator Centre was named the fourth best accelerator in the world and the top AI accelerator in Canada. The voice-powered technology space is exploding, and we’re excited to be at the Canadian forefront,” said Accelerator Centre CEO, Dr. Paul Salvini, in a news release.
With applications open until November 24, the AC will select five entrepreneurs from across Canada to participate in this 6-12 month long accelerator program beginning in December.
“The Alexa Voice Tech Accelerator Program builds on our proven program model and is specialized for software, hardware and service companies that have the potential to integrate with Alexa, or directly incorporate Alexa already,” said Clinton Ball, director of client programs and initiatives at the Accelerator Centre, in the same news release. “We’re really happy to be the first Canadian accelerator that Amazon is collaborating with to take Canadian voice tech to the next level,” he added.
